ANNOTATION

The Discussion Course on Discovering a Sense of Place is one part in a series of four discussion courses. The mission of the series is to motivate individuals to examine and transform personal values and habits, to accept responsibility for the earth, and to act on that commitment. The curriculum was written as eight sessions, designed for weekly discussion. Each includes brief readings and accompanying questions and concludes with "Putting it into Practice" for those who desire to do so. This course focuses on knowing and protecting the place you live. The course is intended to promote dialogue, not consensus. With the aid of readings in the coursebook and the discussion format, participants learn from themselves and from each other. The curriculum was developed for use by community groups, church groups, schools, businesses, and others interested in discussing issues of discovering a sense of place.
