ANNOTATION

This is a companion handbook to Anne Hope's and Sally Trimmel's four original Training for Tranformation volumes. Partners and Mareen Sheehy have been utilizing concepts found in the aforementioned volumes in workshops both within her native Ireland and Internationally. In the implementation and expansion of these workshops, many of the original exercises have been modified and new ones have also been created. The primary goal of this book is to make these adapted excercises more widely available. In addition to explaining and elaborating upon new and updated excercises, this handbook outlines how Training for Transformation workshops are structured and pieced together, supplies some examples of how Training for Transformation has been used as a tool to do listening surveys, and gives examples of codes and problem posing materials that have been useful. Workshop exercises included highlight the need for workshop participants (preferrably compiled of teams or groups of people rather than sole individual participants) to recognize and to think critically about such issues as intelligence, learning, money issues, refugees, the environment, and spirituality. The author notes that while any facilitator can "dip in and out" of the manual for specific exercises, it is predominantly written for "those already conversant with and skilled in the Training for Transformation experiencial process methodology." The book is divided into two parts: "How Training for Transformation workshops are conducted by Partners" and "Exercises and Resources." the latter part constitutes by far the majority of the handbook.
